The People Speak TV Premiere On History
The film will include dramatic and musical performances of letters, diaries and speeches of everyday Americans who spoke up for social change
throughout USA history.
The People Speak is inspired by Howard Zinn’s book, A People’s History of the United States and from the book he co-authored with Anthony Arnove, Voices of a People’s History. These are the voices of resistance in U.S. history – resistance to injustice, to war. Voices that are often excluded from traditional histories.
Artists and actors involved include Benjamin Bratt, Matt Damon, Marisa Tomei, Morgan Freeman, Josh Brolin, Kerry Washington, Danny Glover and Viggo Mortensen (for the full cast, see “The People Speak” Cast).
