On Friday, April 15, 2011, the Carsey-Wolf Center at the University of California-Santa Barbara presents an event where “actors, executives, journalists, and academics will speak to Law & Order’s influence on television as a business, impacts on society’s views of the police and justice systems, and  resonance internationally as it has expanded beyond the U.S.”

Benjamin Bratt will take part in Panel 2, exploring the social and cultural significance of Law & Order and the manner in which the series represents crime, punishment, the criminal justice system and the law.

“La Mission” was nominated for an NAACP Award in the Outstanding Independent Motion Picture category, but unluckily it didn’t get the prize.

On Saturday, February 19, 2011, Benjamin will be attending the 1st Annual “Fighting For A Cause” Red Carpet Charity Event, aiming to raise funds for the Knock Out Dog Fighting program, a nonprofit organization program working to stop cruelty and abuse to both humans and animals.

Benjamin will attend the gala opening of the new Valley Performing Arts Center at the California State University, Northridge, on Saturday, January 29, 2011.

The event celebrates the performing arts and all the performance possibilities of the Center’s Great Hall.

The Wall Las Memorias Project – an organization advancing the health of Latinos – is hosting their annual fundraiser, “ROJO: A Celebration of Life, Hope and Community Achievements”, at the historic Cicada Restaurant in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles next Wednesday, November 17, 2010.

The event will honor Peter and Benjamin Bratt’s for “La Mission”, as a film contributing to expanding the dialogue and awareness of the challenges faced by gay and lesbian Latinos in today’s society, as they seek harmony between their sexual orientation and strong cultural pride.

ROJO features music, wine and food tasting and brings together community, civic leaders, and a new generation of believers all fighting for the same cause, to celebrate life and hope.
